If you were ordering a new lacquer steel, what color would you order? I've seen some very pretty lacquer wood body steels etc. Can you post the color of your wood body lacquer steel for ideas? Thanks |

I have a real pretty MSA in medium red, and I'm very happy with it. Thing is I ordered it in plain maple and since then the coolest looking guitars I've seen are in fiddle back maple. So not only is the color important, but the grain in the wood is a very important consideration. Wish I had initially considered the colour AND the figuring of the wood.

If I was going to get a new guitar, or redo a old one, my personal choice would be a bright red, that shows the wood grain. Think they look awesome. I play a green one, and had no choice in the color, but it looks great too. _________________ Sho-Bud LDG, Martin D28, Ome trilogy 5 string banjo, Ibanez 4-string bass, dobro, fiddle, and a tubal cain. You can't go wrong with a natural laquer finish.

I plan to do just that real soon, Bill
I'm going with these two as a model. I like the natural top with darker stained aprons and neck. I'm real partial to the Marlen in the picture below.
This Bud ain't bad either -- same idea.
(I hope nobody minds me posting these pictures == they originally came from the Forum -- thanks in advance) _________________ Larry Bell - email: larry@larrybell.org - gigs - Home Page

What ever color you go with, have Mark Giles do the finish and you'll be as happy as I am with my MSA SD-12 Legend!

This was my choice about seven years ago but I'd have the natural on top and the darker on the bottom and necks now. That Sho-Bud and Carter is about what I'd have now! |

This one's not too shabby:
Besides the mother-of-pearl inlay on the front of the guitar, the fret markers are also done in mother-of-pearl.

Bill, I think you saw this one when when Bill Rudolph delivered it to me, St Louis 2007. Buddy Emmons was kind enough to provide backgroung music for the occasion (souncheck ) The colour is called Honey Amber.
