If you like the single coil sound, try a Jerry Wallace Truetone. If you like the humbucker sound, try a Bill Lawrence XR16. Click on the "Links" in the green box at the top of the page, then on manufacturers, and under Steel guitar accessories, you will find both Jerry Wallace or True Tone pickups, and Bill Lawrence. Both are excellent pickups. I have a single coil in my Zum (Bruce uses the True Tone as his stock pickup), and the XR16 in my Williams. I am in Walton, NY, south of Oneonta, east of Binghamton. Stop in my music store in Walton, and talk steel! Try out my Zum and my Williams if you want to...

I replaced the original pickup in my Semi-Classic with an E-66. I had to route the cavity slightly and cut the mounting tabs off to fit it. There may be better choices, but it sounds much better to me than the original. These come up on the forum quite often for a reasonable price.
