Selling my 1967 D-35 ,a new steel is on the way... beatiful Brazilian Rosewood, the guitar is in very good condition, and plays great with nice lower action, and sounds like a cannon. The guitar will at some time in it's life need some attention as the top is bellied, and will need bridge work, but with some TLC , this guitar will have a long and bright future. As it stands the guitar plays great with nice low action, and does not ness a thing to be plyed for years to come... No top, side or back cracks , a finish type check mark on the back, barely visable in person, has the typical pickguard crack on the lower side of the guard, caused by the laquer shriking over the years, again barley noticable some soundhole pick wear, I have to repeat the guitar plays fine, and need nothing at this point, but to make it perfect it would need the bridge work done to it down the line.. The Brazilian in this guitar is the end of the line, you can no longer obtain this quality of Rosewood on this planet earth...
, which is why these vintage Brazialian guitars are the best investment a person can make . I'm asking $2550.00 plus shipping, and it comes in a hard shell case. If intrested e-mail me at ...lucybobkat@yahoo.com NOTICE!!! no more STUDID QUESTIONS please ,the guitar is not perfect, it could use bridge work if you want it perfect, it is also priced approx $2000.00 less than a perfect one now selling between $4500.00 to $5500.00 A new Brazlian guitar from Martin starts at $20,000.. Thanks

Are you sure this is a '67? In '68 they started the black pickguards. Does it have a maple or rosewood bridgeplate? Serial #? _________________ Bowman SD10 push pull 3x5, Modified Hudson PedalBro, Sarno Tonic preamp, Evans SE200 with Altec 418B, Standel Custom 15, '67 Showman with D-130F in cabinet, Ganz Straight Ahead, custom Wolfe 6 string dobro, '52 Gibson Century 6. |

Martin started using black pickguards in 1967 circa the 222000s. My D-18 (22216x) has tortoise--it's in the minority that way. 1967 Martins run approximately 217000-230000. (I could reach around and get a card out of my wallet for the exact numbers, but it's late.) I once discussed this by mail with Mike Longworth who said there were two different foreman's notes mentioning two different serial numbers for the transition, but they weren't far apart from each other and were in the range mentioned.
For some fun go look at Elderly Instruments' 1966 D-28: the pickguard looks black but isn't...and the price doesn't look like $3900. _________________ "Gopher, Everett?" |

Guys, this guitar has been to the Martin Factory in it's day for adjustments and so forth..(I'm an hour or so away) and and the pickguard was never changed, it came with a black guard and still has the original one on it. It's a later '67,SERIAL # IS 227732... I 've been fortunate enough to own about 9 Brazialian Rosewood vintage Martins over the course of 20 years or so , and foolishly sold them all, I still haven't learned my lesson, and I'm selling this one like a dunce!!! 6 years ago, I've watched Brazial Martins over the last ten years go from approx $1200.00, then to $2000.00 , then $3000.00 and now $4,000, to $8,000. and thats just for 1960's era guitars, and a new Martin built with Brazian starts at $20,000 so Martin informed me a justfew days ago..The old rosewood , like in this guitar is extinct, never to be had again, at least in our lifetime, the new brazilian looks like wood from a shipping palet!! nothing like the beauty of this old rosewood. So look at this guitar as an investment. Emmons steels and Martin guitars, up ,up and away!!!! Thanks |

Hey: Thanks for the info on pickguards. What about the bridgeplate? The big rosewood one or the little maple one? _________________ Bowman SD10 push pull 3x5, Modified Hudson PedalBro, Sarno Tonic preamp, Evans SE200 with Altec 418B, Standel Custom 15, '67 Showman with D-130F in cabinet, Ganz Straight Ahead, custom Wolfe 6 string dobro, '52 Gibson Century 6. |

Bump for a good price on a 60's era Martin that's growing in collectibility every year. I've got a 67 D18 among my dreadnoughts and Martins and it's a keeper. If your Martin doesn't sell here you could try the unofficial Martin guitar forum Buy and Sell section at http://theunofficialmartinguitarforum.yuku.com/ _________________ Rusty Smith

Bob
If you don't get any takers here on the forum you might check with Elderly Music and see if they're willing to take it on a consignment basis. I do know they sell guitars on consignment I just don't know their requirements. www.elderly.com Who knows, maybe they might buy it outright from you. _________________ Steve |

That's a very pretty Brazilian r/w faceplate on the headstock!
Ben's right - the 22X,000 was a change-over period during '67; I had a D-28 with a mock-tortoise guard, and a 000 with a black one. The guitars were only about 1,000 digits away from each other. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!
