Ivor, sorry to report that videotaping is prohibited at all the major steel shows in the States, Dallas included.

Then where did all those videos from steel shows (like the St. Louis Convention) on YouTube come from? Confused

Those are Scotty's own archived recordings which have been off-limits for decades and only now are starting to get out into public domain with the help of Bill Ferguson. Just about anything else from a major steel show would be a bootleg.

Jim, you're right. I think we all owe Scotty and Bill a whole lot of THANKS, for getting those up, so we can all enjoy seeing them.

Lots of really, great videos, and tons of great memories from years back, not to mention the great tribute it does for those who've passed on, and yet their music lives on, for all of us to enjoy, through folks such as Scotty and Bill.

I hate to say it, but a truck load of video is being shot now at the shows by regular cameras. It's hard to prove someone is taking footage or merely shooting a pic. Whether or not anyone has a right to have them removed from youtube is something I know nothing about, but I'd say you'll see a few pop up shortly. As far as I know, video is only prohibited in the main ballroom. All other rooms are fair game, I believe.....unless someone protests on a case-by-case basis.
