I've got a more useful request-----provide the identifying guidelines to tell the diff between 710 and XR-16.

Measuring the Inductance (Henry's) will give you the best results.
The 710 I measured was an old one that did not have a cover.
(Bill made them that way for a short period of time early on.)

XR-16 24-30K, 16H
710 16-20K, 12H

I have a BL910 measuring @ 30kohms on a Fluke 77.It has the single pole pieces sticking up, but just as wide as the 710. Good bottom end and mid.

A picture is worth a thousand words. I had one of those 705's in a Sho-Bud 6139 in the early 80s. Great sounding pickup. I wish Bill was still making those. I just recently ordered a 710 narrow mount for my Mullen, directly from Bill Lawrence. It's in the mail.

Bobbe Seymour sells the 705 that is supposed to be the same as the old ones. Check it out on his website. http://www.steelguitar.net/
