I bought a Rocky Mountain Poncha bullet ceramic bar a couple years ago, never did like it for pedal steel, but now I am using it with my DynaLap. I like the tone I am getting with it, almost that old time sound. I play through a Epi ValveJr with a 12" Celestion GreenBack speaker. I may be closer to finding my lapsteel sound Very Happy .

There are several styles of Rocky Mt. bars and they can be very good. One suggestion- polish it with some 600 or finer cloth and clean up the imperfections in the glaze and it works even better. I prefer the small size rail style like a Stevens bar shape that they make, for me, the Poncha Bullet seems big in my hand.

Back when Tom Bradshaw had his Steel Guitar Products Mail~Order Service, I had a 1”-10-Str. Bar that I ordered from him and it was made of Pyrex! Very light and as fast as you can move!

On second thought, I believe my Pyrex Tone~Bar came from ‘Rusk’ at Steel Guitar World Magazine!
