A promising student from my 2008 E9 101 class, Stewart Eastham, is also an up and coming singer/songwriter. The band he fronts, Day of the Outlaw, just finished their first CD, and the release party is this Friday, at Mr. T's in Highland Park, which is near Pasadena. Mr. T is no relation to yours truly, Mr. Twang. I'll be playing about half their set.

Full details and links below, come out and enjoy a night of live music. It's muscular southern rock, and modern and alt country, you aren't likely to hear any Ray Price shuffles, so if you're a purist, this gig probably isn't for you.

Hello friends!

As most of you have heard by now, my band "Day Of The Outlaw" has finally finished up our new album Black Mountain Majesty.  It was a long journey, but I must say I am very proud of what we accomplished.  In March, we will have album reviews in both Far West Almanac and All Access Magazine.  The dude from All Access Magazine described us as:  "Southern Rock" gets worked over, Cali-style, full-force.

This Friday, March 6th, (in association with http://isgoodmusic.com/ ) we are having our big CD Release Party Show!! This show is COMPLETELY FREE...and we are working with the club on offering some good drink specials.  We have set up a great line-up of country-ish/roots/americana type bands.   Music starts 8:30 PM and Day Of The Outlaw hits the stage around 10:30 PM.

Friday, March 6th -- 8:30 PM - 1:30 AM

For those of you that haven't been to Mr. T's, it's a cool retro bowling alley that has been converted into a rock club.

We will be playing the album in it's entirety.  All 15 songs!!  In addition to the main band members, we will also feature a pedal steel player, a fiddle player, a piano player, and a banjo player...all amazing musicians who performed on the album with us.  And Leiana Miller is back with the band on backing vocals!

We are currently featured on the homepage of http://SoundTrack.mtv.com <http> if you want to preview some tracks before the show.

We also just posted a video for "Peckerwood Slim" featuring some footage of us in the recording studio:  http://vimeo.com/3341676

Look forward to seeing you all at the show.  It's gonna be a helluva party!

Hey John, good luck in all you're doing out there on the notorious "Left Coast". I'm planning a trip out there again this October and I hope we can get together while I'm there. My old 'bud and pickin' partner (Johnny McKnight) will be in town the same time. He's been living in Oklahoma for many years now! Keep up the good work dude.......JH in Va.

Jerry, you BETTER get in touch this time! If you sit in with Clark Rohn, I wanna come heckle. Did you know Steve Silver from the 70's/80's? He came to the Perl Jam, nice to have steel guitar ghosts from the past drifting in now and then.
