This morning I took down my old 1931 National Duolian guitar tuned it to open 'D', found my metal bottleneck and recorded this tune.

It's my country blues arrangement of the old fiddle tune 'Angeline The Baker'.

I do it as Duolian/ukulele duet. The uke is my 2006 Talsma tenor.

Angeline The Baker

Here I am in 1982 at the Battleground, Indiana Fiddler's Gathering playing this same guitar!

Yes yes, a blue man can play the whites. Cool

Ya see folks... I can play other chords besides 6th's 9th's and diminished. I can "like you young kids say" - get funky. Wink

But in the words of Martin Mull:

Lawd, I woke up dis (sp. this) morning and saw that both cars were gone.
I got so frustrated, I threw my drink across the lawn.

Nice job, Gerald. You create a lot of music with two instruments. Are you using any effects/ compression on the mixdown? Sounds great! See you in Dallas next weekend.

No effects except reverb on the Master track.

I actually recorded both instruments with a microphone this time. The Duolian has no pickup and since the mic was already set up I used it for the uke.

Each instrument has it's own compression plugin on it's track. Very slight ratio and an elongated attack time and threshold.
