Well, it finally happened after 40+ years, I turned up at a gig, unpacked my steel, and realized I had left the case with my volume pedal, delay pedal, cables and strings at home.
For a moment panic set in, but I managed to maintain my coup, forgive my stupidity, and understand I needed to make the best of what I had with me.
Many years ago while attending a seminar by Herb Remington, he impaired a useful piece of information, which yesterday served me well.
When in practice, set your volume to a level required, then push the pedal to one side, and learn to control the volume using your hands only, not the easiest thing to do, but with practice it starts to happen, and am I glad I worked on this item, as it did me proud at this time.
I know there must be a whole heap of you guys that have run into this situation at one time or another, and at first it’s a gut dropping feeling, but with the ability to play this way, it will save the day, Happy picking, Slim.

I have started doing some recording sessions without a volume pedal.
