Hello,
This item has been SOLD.
Thanks all!.
JW.
I have black ZB student model (#SB006) available for sale or trade. I purchased this guitar about 18 mos ago and I'm ready to move on to the next step. Cosmetically the guitar is a 7.5/10 but she definitely has has the 10/10 ZB sound! I'm including a re-potted Goodrich pedal that has some wear, but sounds quiet and clean. Asking $800.00
I'd like to move up to an MSA single 10 or 12 with at least 4/4 (or more). I had one back in the 80's and it was perfect for my style. I'd consider a single neck Sierra or BMI as well; I'm really pretty open.
I also have a Mint Danelectro U2 replica that is separately listed here (for $385.00). I'd be willing to combo that one in a trade as well or add cash??
Lets see what you've got and hopefully we can work out something copacetic.
Thanks,
John

I just happen to be looking for an inexpensive guitar. How many knee levers does this little feller have? What year do you think it was manufactured? |

My ZB is a 3 pedal /1 lever (LKL) with standard E9 tuning and copedant. There are a couple of guys that work on ZBs in the ZB forum and they have parts if you're looking to add.
The ZB's are really retro/classy but I want something a bit more modern to try quick change tunings.
Regards,

I have tried to determine the age through the ZB forum, but the numbering on the student models is apparently not well documented. If it follows the Pro model numbering convention, then this would be one of the first few built (SB006). My best guess would be from 1968 to 1970.

I have two copies of the postcard announcing the new ZB student model, but at the moment can only lay my hands on (or find scans of) the one not postmarked. It's either 1971 or 1973, probably 1971. (John Rutledge, from whom we haven't seen a SGF post since 2006, stated that the student model was his baby. He worked at Mosrite, then ZB--in the same building--after Mosrite went under ca. 1969 and later in Phoenix for a couple of years when ZB moved there.) _________________ "Gopher, Everett?" |

Thanks Ben,
Your info certainly narrows down the birthday on this guitar.
John
