KSGA Meeting May 2009

Wow, what a great turnout we had today. Thank you to everyone who made the effort to come out and be with us. This was the month we voted on officers and and renewed our memberships. We had some great music, great food, and lots of fun.

First I will say we were glad to have Ruth and Donald Sagesar back with us. Ruth missed last month and was very sick. She is back and feeling well.

Some of the Siloam Springs, AR. club came over to join us today. Larry Garrett and Donely Harrington drove over to be with us. I must say that Larry was playing the prettiest red ShowBud I have ever seen!

Mom and Dad (Jerry and Donna Newberry) drove up to have some fun with us. I was glad to get to spend the day with them. They brought fried chicken, so that made pretty much everyone glad to see them. LOL.

I will list the officers below and attempt to list everyone that was at the meeting. Please forgive anything I miss or miss-spell.

Officers:

President: Lee Ogle
Vice President: Ray Qualls
Public Relations Officer: Austin Stewart
Secretary: Dana Stewart

Players: Larry Garrett, Lee Ogle, Ray Qualls, Austin Stewart, Jerry Newberry, Benny Haynes, Paul Troop, Floyd McCoy, Marty Neer. We are so excited to see and hear Benny jumping in and playing along with all the songs. He is really sounding great.

Bass Player: Doug Cole
Sax Player: Phil Armstrong
Guitar Player: Jerry Hoffman
Drum Player: Jerry Scott (Very glad to have him giving us a good beat)
Guitar & Harmonica: Larry Crozier

Listeners: Ruth & Donald Sagesar, Clara Houck, Donna Newberry, Randy & Dana Stewart, Donnely Harrington, Chad Jones, Odale Pointer, John Thomas, Marvin Groff, Bob Taylor, Carol Humphreys (a guest of Paul Troop), Janet Haynes (Benny's wife), Rolly Williams, John & Diane, Johnny Lofton, Price Thorp, and Jim & Gayla Coleman.

Below are a vew pictures from the day. Thanks again to all of you for making it a great day for our club!

Dana, you're right! What a great Sunday afternoon. Lots of music, lots of fellowship. I believe its about the biggest meeting that we've ever had. Everyone played great and I want to mention that Austin Stewart was re-elected Public Relations officer. He's done a great job this past year and I know that he will do a great job this year! I tell you what, either Randy gets a skinny camera or I'm going to have to go on a diet! Laughing Great pictures! Ray

Thanks for pointing that out Ray. I forgot about poor old Austin. He doesn't say much for a PR person, but I guess he talks with his guitar.

I agree about the skinnier camera, I always try to hide from Randy and his camera.

Congratulations to the officers and all the KSGA. What a great turnout today. We had a good time. Dana, I'm glad you like that ol' ShoBud. I do too. I just can't do much with the C6th yet but Austin showed me a couple things. That proves it is possible. Now if I can just remember.. and execute...LOL
His bar was still warm from last night. I think he said he played for 5 hours straight. Whew!

Thanks for a fun day.

Sounds like everyone had a great time at the meeting. Wish Barbara and I could have been there with you. Congratulations to the newly elected officers of the KSGA. Looks like we missed some great food also, when Donna and Dana have anything to do with it, it's gotta be "finger lickin good".
Best Wishes to all,
...Roy and Barbara

We had a great time at the meeting yesterday. If you weren't there you missed a good time. Larry, you are right. Austin played 5 hours Saturday night. He had 2 guitars set up in 2 different places and when he finished one gig he ran to the next and slid behind the second steel. Poor Randy had to sit one up at the Oprey while Austin was playing the wedding party, then go tear the one from the wedding party down while Austin played the Oprey. I think they met themselves going and coming. Good thing they were in the same town and not far apart. I think Austin's jaw was more sore than his fingers. He chews gum when he plays in time with the bass ( I think ) and he said when he got up Sunday morning his jaw was so sore he could hardly move it after chewing for 5 hours. Congrats to all the new officers. See you again sometime.
