I think this may be a Harmony (h design of keyhead) It's recently been restored with faithful paint match. It is pretty loud acoustically. Scale is 25-1/4". The fretboard is nice looking wood. There is no case. Lowered to $395 plus shipping

Here is some more info I learned about this somewhat rare steel guitar. It is in fact a Harmony brand. This model was only sold through the Sears catalog for about one year - 1936 -

The pickup works fine. It is fairly large, metal encased and has three pole pieces. Each adjustable height pole piece is located exactly between two strings. The volume pot works fine and there is no scratchiness. Off is fully clock wise and full on is counter clockwise. I compared the output level to some other lap steels and it seems to be about the same. It is lower in level than a modern pedal steel pickup.
Please let me know if I can answer any more questions.

I just saw one of these go on Ebay a week or so ago; I would've bought it, but I snatched up an old Fender 400 instead. I liked the design enough to save all of the pictures of it - would be a neat one to make a wooden clone of.
I just now noticed the Steel Guitar Forum logo on the pics! This wouldn't be the same guitar, would it? If it is, someone had a very busy week. |
