The forum is back up and we can bump for Mike's Show.

No matter how the bumps come they are always appreciated with all the traffic on here.

They really worked as the response to todays Moon Mullican tribute show was heartwarming.

Mike, unfortunately I missed your Saturday show.
I sure didn't want to , but it just couldn't be helped.

However, I'm listening to the recorded hour with the flower songs right now.
I've never heard that recording of Jody Carver and Flight 616 playing "Red Roses For A Blue Lady" before.
Jody is such a beautiful tasteful player, it's always such a treat to hear his recordings.
Thanks so much for playing that one! Smile

Rick,

Thanks so very much for listening to my 24/7 show. It is really difficult sometimes to catch the Saturday afternoon show with so much else going on. I always appreciate whatever you can listen to and all of your bumps on here. You are a real help.

Glad that you enjoyed Jody's recording on my show. I always love to play that guy. He is a true steel legend and his Hall of Fame enshrinement proves it all.

Mike, I was talking to Jody today and he told me that was his first session after a hiatus of several years which had begun in 1960.
I think steel playing must be in his DNA and in his soul, because even though he has played very little in the last few years he can still tear it up at the drop of a hat.
To this day he still has those killer chops!

Rick,

The first Jody Carver recording that I ever heard was "Brimstone & Fire" with Jimmie Dale and the Prides of the Prairie in the mid-1950. I was hooked on Jody Carver's steel playing.

Chuck,

Thanks so very much for the kind words.
This Saturday's "Swingin' West" show is preempted by basketball but then or anytime would be a good time to check out my 24/7 Internet show at www.swinginwest.com
