A Musician friend of mine is down in the Sarasota, Fort Myers area in Florida for the winter and is wondering where he might find some steel guitar or country music jams that he could attend. Appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks folks. Nigel

Nigel, we have the Manasota Steel Guitar Club meeting the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Your friend is welcome to come play or just listen. We have all skill levels represented, both pedal and non-pedal and a real sharp back-up band and singers available. The meeting is at the Eagles Lodge on 15th Street East in Oneco. Start time is 6:00 PM and we quit around 9:30. There is a link to our website in the 'links' section of this forum. Hope to see you there!

If he hasn't already caught the Classic Country Band at the Fleamasters Fleamarket , he should go there on a Saturday evening. 7 PM

Forum friends Larry Bell and Roger Rettig play there.
Usually it's Larry on steel , and Roger on 6-string guitar, but Roger has also played steel at times.

Bob Slaughter , the M.C. and singer owns a muusic store at the fleamarket. He sells steel guitars, and
is a pretty god player himself.
