The RKR lever on my 80's Pro 1 does not return fully from the lowered position when released. It lowers the 2nd and 9th strings fine but, when released, returns the 9th string to it's correct pitch but not the 2nd string...I have to manually push the lever the rest of the way to the left in order to bring the 2nd string back up to D#. I can't see where it may be jamming/sticking. When I operate the 2nd string changer from below with my finger, it works fine... don't appear to be sticking at the changer itself. Got me kinda puzzled... Confused Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Worst case, sounds like the rivot on the changer finger may be worn, this is common with the older guitars. If it is, it's an easy fix, swap that changer finger with one that is not connected to any rods. I did this on my mid 70's Pro III twice. But do check the return springs first.

What you may want to do is back off all other changes except the one that is giving you grief just to be sure it isn't one of the others causing the return issue. Isolate the issue first.

There is a machine bolt(or screw)used to connect the elongated slot in the knee lever(RKR)to the lever on the cross shaft. The bolt(screw)is threaded its full length. It appears to have scored a thread-like pattern into the elongated slot in the knee lever. Could this be the problem? Should there be a smooth shaft type bolt or screw used here? Perhaps a smooth pin ? What is used originally on these guitars?

Thanks again guys.

It's the screw indicated by the black arrow.... sorry about the quality (it's cropped from a forum photo)...I can take a higher quality photo with my camera later when I get home.
