This is a newer company. It isn't mentioned on the current website, but I believe Curt worked for Ernie Ball for quite a few years in their string division.
I have not used the pedal steel strings yet (which can be found on the website under the "electric guitar" category), but I have used a few sets of the dobro strings from the "Bluegrass Series" (80/20 bronze resophonic) and I am very impressed with the quality.

If you go to his online store, click the link to Eletric Guitar Strings, and then the next link is to Nickel-wound sets. At the bottom of the list (at least today) are the E9th ($10.10; gauges 12-15-11-14-18-22-26w-30-34-38 ) and C6th ($10.79; 17-14-18-22-24w-30-36-42-54-68 ) sets.
I haven't tried them, but I was curious. Is this the guy who makes the super-strength and endurance claims for high pitch/tension? Another thread refers to that.
Hope this helps. |

Curt Mangan strings are excellent. I use them for guitar and steel. They will make you anything you want and they are priced right. You can't go wrong! |
