I WILL BE THERE!!!

(Disclaimer: Having reconsidered the context of my statement above, I should clarify that it is absolutely no big whoop that "I" will be there, but rather, I am excited about the fact that I now live in Mass. and am able to go)

Hi Doug I would love to be there to see you and good ol Bill Hankey but I will be in pigion Forge Tenn. at a Wedding. Two menbers of the Red neck Exspress band are from that area and are going down there to get Married.I'm hoping you and Bill make our R.I. Steel Guitar Association Steel Show on Sept. 23rd. Bill called me and said if he could come with some one in your area he would love to come.We have Sam Gibbson.Larry Bevines,Jerry Fessenden,Ed Cunningham Frank Carusso, and this year Bob Simpson from New Hampshire. Kelly Green came down from up state New York three years ago.But I haven't heard from him since the death of his daughter. He was set to walk out the door to come to our show a year ago last september and he got that terrible call from Florida.I"m so sorry for him and his family as the are wonderful people and he is a exellent man and Steel player.I sure wish he would come again as the people here loved his style of playing.Hope to see you guys at our show or the PSGA convention in Norwalk in November

Thanks Doug for your great efforts to promote the Steel Guitar Bash. I can't think of anyone who has done more than you to further the cause of bringing the steel guitar to the forefront, and contributing to its popularity amongst those who wish to advance their skills while learning to play the instrument.

Your friend, Bill.

Doug B.

I heard from Leigh Howell last evening, and he likes the way THE MA. BASH is developing into "one of the best yet" steel guitar shows. When you played for Leigh, in the 80's for a long period of time, it proved without question that he supported steel guitarists far beyond the average expectations. Thanks Leigh, I enjoyed those Billy T evenings.

Hi Doug,

Chris Brooks has confirmed that he will attend The Ma. Bash on July 15, 2001. He accepted an invitation to perform at the Hinsdale, Ma. Home Club, fifteen years ago. He now teaches abroad, and will be flying to this area to visit friends in July. A man of great ambition, he is world travelled, and teaches in Saudi Arabia at the present time. Due to the numerous influx of steel guitarists who will perform at THE MA. BASH on July 15, Chris has decided to attend, and has offered his assistance whenever it is needed. We welcome his generous support with much enthusiasm. Bill Hankey

I have about some people (maybe 30) from the Virginia Country Music Association interested in Chartering a bus and coming to hear Joe Casey sing. Hope this doesn't give Joe a swelled head. I know I plan on being there just to attempt to keep Smiley in Check. Lets all hope that Smiley Doesn't get Jealous and wants to sing too.

Bobbe, Thanks for the kind words... I guess all of my press releases are starting to pay off! The snow's all gone, but there'll be plenty of wind when Joe Casey gets here. Just kidding Joe!

News Flash

Joe Casey will MC the MASS BASH. This is good news. Joe has always been a big steel guitar supporter and fan. He kept a lot of us working in his bands throughout the 70s, 80's, and 90's.

Bobbe, will this "surprise" be hanging off of Mike Weirauch's arm, by any chance?
