Anybody make one with inputs on the front? I'll need to plug several instruments into a rack.

thanks,
Drew

This one has front-mounted inputs:

I have not heard of the company, so do not know how well it performs. Pro Sound & Stage Lighting, and Sam Ash, are selling it on their web sites for about $100. This unit only has RCA outputs for the mixer section, though, which could be a problem depending on what you are going to plug it into.

I didn't see much else out there on the web when I looked, but there may be other options. Just about everything has the inputs on the rear.

One other idea (provided you have an extra rack space) is to use a patch bay or drill out a blank rack panel and wire it with jacks to connect to the back side of the mixer.

If you are looking for (four 1/4" in- one 1/4" out with volume control on each in-put) you might try a
DOD 240 resistance mixer. Sold by most online stores, Musician Friend, Music 123, etc.

I've never seen one. I have a Korg and a Behringer, but they all have the jacks on the back. What you could do is get a blank rack panel (1 space) if you have room in the rack, cut out holes for jacks and connect them with short shielded cables and 1/4" plugs into the inputs / outputs on the back. This is what I did with the Korg back when I used it for keyboards.

Drew,
The DOD-240 Resistance Mixer does exactly what I believe you are trying to do. They cost about $40.00.
I ordered mine from Guitar Center. Most all the online stores carry them.

I think he wants a rack mount unit. But, if all you need is 4 in and 1 out, that DOD looks like a winner.

Yes, I'm looking to put a rack together to use with at least three instruments and so I'll need 1/4" in/out.

thanks,
Drew

Then my earlier suggestion would be workable. Or you could spend the money (some are quite expensive for what you want to do) for a patchbay rack mount unit. They have jacks in front and on back, but don't know a lot about them.

I have a Behringer Eurorack Pro, $100 bucks at all the online stores that works good. All connections are on the back though. 8 stereo inputs and stereo outputs, but can run mono.
