He's smilin' and I'm on his side. What he has done for country music I'll pray for him everyday. I guess I'm tellin' my age but I remember when there wasn't a MERLE HAGGARD. A Pickin' Bro. Doyle

God Bless Merle Haggard! I cut my musical teeth on Merle's music. He's gonna be at Bonaroo this year.

Garth Brooks could carry his guitar case. Same with Kenny Chesney. The man is a living legend.

Just a few nights ago Merle gave his first concert at the "Grove" in Anaheim, Ca. He got a tremendous review in the Paper "Orange County Register". I don't know if this review can be brought up on the Internet. It is really worth reading, In addition to pictures of Merle there was really a good picture of Norm Hamlett sitting at his steel wearing an old style fedora hat.
