I just hit the year mark with this instrument and I wanted to thank everyone for helping me with many questions. I think this year was, quite literally, learning how to pick and block. I was fortunate to have a local teacher, the forum, Mickey Adams, Bobbe Seymour etc. I think I'm ready to start learning to play now:-)
I started hacking away with a very non-demanding band and it's quite a difference than playing scales and basic melodies alone (ie. staying in tune).
Anyways, I'm looking forward to being able to effectively play in ten years. It's all steel by numbers right now, very mechanical. I'm also looking forward to the next year of learning and bugging the forum to impart their knowledge.
Thanks again,
Chris |
