I've taken online lessons from Joe for the past four weeks, and have made more progress this month than I did for the previous several months when I had a teacher who didn't really have a plan, or when I tried to teach myself via tablature or YouTube videos. I'm not knocking either of those forums, but as a newbie to the PSG, Joe's methodology and formidable talents as both a musician and a teacher have really paid off for me. Sure, there are a lot of drills, but most instruments require you to know how to manipulate them effectively before you can consistently make good music, and the steel to me is an instrument that REALLY requires good basic techniques to be mastered before I will make good progress. Your mileage may vary, but I just wanted to voice my opinion that these lessons are terrific, and a great advance in teaching.
