Anybody ever played one of these? It's (the late) John Pearse's brand. There's one for a decent price up on e-bay and judging a book by its cover it appears to be quality.

My opinion: avoid these guitars. They were made in Italy by a luthier Pearse employed and while they sounded pretty good, I've heard of a number of these instruments that had construction problems including spitting bridge pins that wouldn't stay in place and a wooden (lignum vitae) nut instead of bone.

I think that john pears makes this guitar by an under-brand in Italy, the wood was't (walnut,acacia...) bad but there are some construction defects. Often they glued the bridge after painting and above lacquer...
I don't like the woody nut , it's too big.
I prefer the bone nut, but this is only my opinion
