I'm thinking about getting a TC Furlong powered cabinet to go with my Rev. Pre-Amp. I have allways used NV 400's with Fox Mod's and was wondering how much low's I would loose using the 12 inch Speaker with closed back. Thanks guy's. J. Dean Mooney

J.Dean, I don't actually own one of the SPLIT cabinets but have heard them and don't believe you lose any lows at all...in fact you may get more. These are truly great sounding speakers in my opinion and if I had any use for them at all (I don't play out anymore) I would buy them in an instant. Of course everyone hears things differently.

The CB-12s are amazing little cabinets. They actually have more low end than a Nashville 400 does. I have to turn the bass down when I use them.

I was subbing downtown on Broadway in a club that was "crazy" loud in volume. I could feel my pants leg move there was so much air moving from the bass notes.

A 12" closed-back cabinet will generally have far more solid bass sound than an open backed 15" cabinet. It's all about tuning and efficiency. Open back cabs are normally 1%-3% efficient, whereas closed-back cabs are 5%-10% efficient.
