I kinda liked their 6-string pups. But I had a GFI that had them, and they died within 4 weeks of each other. And,,, the steel pups were notorious for that. Some sort of chemical reaction inside the pups as I recall. You might call Gene at GFI and ask him. He was very helpful to me. |

Chris, I have a friend that had some on a Sho-Bud
and changed them for Lawrence. They should be getting old now and after that add about dying I dont know, but I will find out if he still has them and how much he wants. |

Barcus Berry pickups were made by...Barcus Berry!
Though most of what they do now is piezos for acoustic instruments, they still make some magnetic pickups for guitar. However, I believe they're out of the steel guitar end of it. Their magnetic steel pickups had limited appeal and configurations, so they didn't sell real well. (I guess that's why they no longer make them.) |

Chris, MCI used to have them as their stock PSG pickup, I think most people who owned these guitars changed the pickups, I went to GL E66's and found they were a much better pickup for my MCI Rangexpander! Others may have preferred the Barcus Berry's but I found them to be a bit lacking in clarity and definition for my tastes.
Someone had a couple of the BB's for sale on here recently so I'm sure you will be able to track some down and find out for yourself! _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9
