Can anyone recommend some good instructional material for C6 hi to low:
E
C
A
G
E
C
that focuses on typical rock and country I, IV, V changes/positions, turnarounds and solo boxes/ pentatonic type improv.
Coming from an E9 pedal background, I'm still having trouble navigating in a straight 6th tuning mentality. _________________ https://www.facebook.com/ggefell/ |

Greg,
Hello fellow steeler, I'd like to throw my hat into the ring so to speak and mention two of my instructional DVDs: "Cold Cold Heart" and "St. Louis Blues", they're both chock full of the types of licks you're looking for, but within the context of a familiar and fun song.
No improv, per se, but the licks, fills and runs in these DVDs should definitely serve you well in that respect.
You can find more info here.
Best wishes,

If I recall correctly, the Cindy Cashdollar video #2 has a section on blues scales and licks you'll be able to work into your playing.
