Is it possible to get a Mullen fretboard but with all the fret markers in the same color as the frets? Under colored lights, some of my fret markers vanish. _________________ E9 INSTRUCTION

John,
A different fretboard other than the normal fretboard design is not stocked. It can be made custom, but would be costly if done as a one item basis. Just like everything else, the setup costs on a new run with new specs requires certain flat costs to just run one through. I am sure Mullen can do this and get it done for you as they have indicated to me, it just might not be a low cost fretboard.
I would say this kind of a request for a custom order would need to be quoted with specific specs written up by you. If you call or write me, I will be glad to submit the specs for a quote and get back with a cost and delivery.

Thanks for the info, Gary.
I can just use any fretboard of a guitar with the same string scale, right? _________________ E9 INSTRUCTION

Yes, keep the same scale length, install it so the 12th. fret is exactly 1/2 between the bridge and the nut on the guitar. The downside is that is no longer looks original Mullen. You could have a new spare Mullen fretboard on hand with the guitar in case you some time sell the guitar and then it could be back to original parts.

Let me chime in on the disappearing fret markers, mostly the blue ones. Only quibble on an otherwise great steel. Maybe Mullen is listening... _________________ Mullen RP D10, Peavey NV112, Hilton volume. Hound Dog reso. Piles of other stuff. |

I wrote Mullen Guitar on this issue and Mike has arranged to order some Mullen fretboards 10 string fretboards with all silver lines and markers for a reasonable charge plus shipping.
Because of forum rules, I can not publish pricing. Just call me. I can say it is really reasonable and very close to the regular Mullen fretboards.
Mullen needs a total of 30 fretboards in pre-ordered committments to place this special order with the vendor. You may place your order through me at Sill Music Supply.
I need a payment with the pre-order. When and if we reach the 30 pre-orders, Mullen will place the order and the fretboards will be available from the vendor approximately 2 weeks after it is placed.
If you want to place the pre-order or have any questions, please call me.
Gary Sill 217 433 7455
Again, this information was given to me from Mullen Guitar and is what Mullen has set as the special fretboard limits. Mike suggested it would be convenient for you to place orders through me on this fretboard special order.
If we do not reach the 30 orders within a reasonable amount of time, your money will be fully refunded. You may pay by check, Paypal, or call me with a credit or debit card.

OK, I'm in for two 12-string pre-RP fretboards, Gary. Now, just to confirm: these are these the same design as regular fretboards, just all the art is knocked out so it's silver? _________________ E9 INSTRUCTION

Yes, that is my understanding the design is still the same, just silver in all the colored areas instead of multi colored combinations. |

To date: 12/30/08, I have had very limited interest in the one color fretboards requested, so that ordering does not look like it is going to happen.
We needed an order of 30 fretboards of either 10 or 12 string fretboards and that just didn't happen in the end.
We tried and Mullen responded . Just letting you all know where it is at.

Gary, can Mullen build me a custom case, or even just the lid to use on my current one, that's a little taller? I may need this to accommodate a custom knee lever bracket I'm designing. You can PM me on approximate cost, if you know it.
