I've always struggled a bit to get the 4th string E lower to work right on my Pro 1. The lever will lower the E smoothly to the Eb, but barely gets there (I can't get it to go any lower, not that I want it to). When I start letting go of the lever, the pitch DROPS below Eb a little before starting to raise back up to E. It only does this when raising, and I can feel a little tug from a spring...
It's a mid 70's Bud with two hole pullers.
Any thoughts/ideas/tips? Thanks! |

If the fourth string has a 'helper' spring on it (it's a spring nearest the body of the guitar), remove it. |

Richard is right. Another thing to do AFTER you make sure the helper spring is off, is back off your tuner, then open up your knee lever stop, giving you a little more throw. |

Thanks Richard and James, that did it! The C pedal is a little stiffer now, but I can easily live with it. |
