I've got a National that still has the old type connection. The one that screws on to connect the center pole.
Does anyone know of a place that sells these type of cables? Or at least the parts so I can make them. I only have one, and it failed during a rehearsal last week. I can fix this one, but I need a back-up. |

Angela Instruments has a series of such "Switchcraft" or "Amphenol" connectors and cables under the Microphones section of their web site. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

Elderly sells these cables:

I used to buy these, but found that I wore out the contacts with frequent use. Someone here on the forum pointed out the amphenol to female jack adaptors (sold on eBay - that's where I got mine), and I find these work much better - I only need to take them off when putting the lap steels in their cases, otherwise they stay on, and wear is minimal compared to the cables in the link above, which I frequenlty unscrewed. I'm sure someone will chime in with a link to these adaptors (I don't remember where I bought them).
Hope that helps!
EDIT: Of course Brad delivered the proper goods while I was typing! In his link you will find the adapter I wrote about above:
Cheers,
