my early pick for the finals: Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey....but you know how the
"Sanjaya" factor comes into play.

I agree with you Larry. But I can't believe they cut the Ozmond.

Did your daughter's friend make it through Theresa? Or did she get cut. I don't seem to remember her being profiled on the show.

She made it through. She sang with a group Wednesday night. She may get to sing by herself Tuesday night. Her name is Ann Marie, she can sing! Smile

I'm old enough to remember the original American Idol, it was called the GONG SHOW. DYKBC.

How about this. I think they already know who the final winner will be. It's written into the script. But, it is an entertaining show.

Absolutely not. They information is probably guarded and only available to the top management of the show, and it's sponsors.

But you seem pretty sure of yourself that the whole thing is rigged, and when they have that public vote for survivors to the winner in the final round, that is possibly a dishonest fabrication?

If you start looking at it closely you can observe several things: When the audience singing competition starts there are only beautiful women gushing next to the stage. This is no accident they go around to the local sororities and pick out ladies to be on camera. There is always a totally irritating personality that makes it thru if you cannot guess who that is I won't tell you, giggle giggle. Then there is usually a "Queen For A Day" Story(Not what you think it was a television show from the 1950ties) someone who has lost everything and will redeem their family and become successful by participating in the show. So it is scripted in that they go for contestants who will provide maximum emotional drama for the tv audience not just great singers or even good singers...Peter

TV show? I thought that refers to our draft deferments.

I suppose we could argue all day about whether the show is "rigged". What we do know is that the judges pick particular singers sometimes of questionable musical talent. These folks always seem to have some bizarre habits, like hyena like laughing every time the camera is on them, that make us watch the following week to see whether they are still on. Well this is not "rigged" but the desire to extract a certain audience reaction(to watch the following week) is definitely planned...The show is about ratings. In the end the winner is usually good but the drama of the show is to keep you watching and they do this by what could be perceived as contrived means. For instance oh they finally got rid of him her etc....Peter

I am so proud of my wife....she has gone cold turkey from American Idol this year. I don't have to listen to it, watch it, see it on the DVR, or hear her talk about it.

Am I ever so happy that's over!
