Dang!! Did they just drive off with the whole trailer??
Last I heard of Frank Black, he wasn't doing anything with steel guitar. Has his music changed that radically in the last 6 years? |

Bob
I have been dealing with a couple of Pawn Shops in The Tidewater Virginia are for a couple of years now and have become good friends with the operators. I will print out this list and pass it on to them to be on the Lookout. These Pawn shop guys have somewhat of a network or Grapevine and they communicate pretty well in this area. Also it not that much of a distance down here for somebody to attempt to unload some of this equipment. I hate to hear of any picker getting ripped off.

His music hasn't altered radically, but it is different ot his early solo albums, as his first solo albums are different to the the Pixies. (his 1985-1992 band, a very popularindie rock band for those who don't know).
Man, so much gear and in a lot of cases you can imagine there's a lot of personal history with all that stuff.
I hope they can track it down. |

yes they drove off with the whole trailer... stole a van in the motel lot, backed it up to the band trailer and absconded. seems like someone followed 'em from the club in Philly where they played earlier that night, or something.
this was in our local paper last week, but I hadn't noticed the steels listed inthe missing equip before.

As a side note to all of this.....I was on the arts and craft circuit for a number if years and have witnessed the same MO many times. Thieves will follow the van/trailer to a motel or restaurant and hit it during the night. Almost without exception the van/trailer is lettered and signed. I'll bet even money such was the case with Frank Black. It's a rolling invitation to thieves. It's a sad commentary on the times but we all need to be aware of just how cunning these dirtbags are. I feel terrible for them and I hope they get back their things. Speed is of the essence. I trust the mechanics are in place. If you must advertise.....always park within view of your van when you eat and insist on a ground floor room at motels where you can park in front of your room and keep your trailer hooked and locked to your van at all times. Alarm systems and/or remote motion sensors that make plenty of noise are an absolute must. Protect yourselves at all costs!!.....RC |

Oh so typical for "Filthy Delphia".
I'm in the 'burbs but will do my best to spread the word.
Wilmington, DE is a short hop south of that airport. Pawn Shops should be watched there as well as "MTJ Music".

I sent a copy of the list to 8th St. Music in Philly. They've treated me well as a customer. Maybe Frank and the band will get lucky. Damn, that sucks so bad. |

Ebay is another good place to watch. I got 2 stolen guitars back last Fall, after I saw one of them advertised on Ebay. |

Darvin, that's good news.
What was E-Bay's take on the whole situation? |

Mr. Hoffner, There are quite a few guitar dealers that can be found at www.gbase.com (w/e-mail addresses) that you could send your list of stolen equipment to. Good Luck BC |
