Ok.. I have 3 of these .. Brand new still have plastic on the guards.. These were closed out by GC, for a stupid price and I bought all I could get my hands on to flip.. I found 3 in the entire US, and had them shipped to my local GC...
These are USA Gibson Explorers in faded brown..They play GREAT and sound killer.. Real rockin' humbucker guitars if you can use that sort of thing.. Its rare to find any US Gibsons at this price, even rarer to find Explorers.. These are about the same price as a used Epiphone Korean Explorer.. No cases... $475 each plus shipping.. They are new but like all GC demos. have a few dings, and need new strings, as they are the originals... I can take a pic, but just look up Gibson Faded Explorer on Google and you can see what they look like.. Please don't reply here.. First 3 respondents to email get one... bullet_bob@lycos.com

Look.. this is crazy.. These are not stolen or counterfeit guitars... If requested, I will INCLUDE the Guitar Center receipts with each guitar,, That way not only can the buyer be sure the guitar is real, they can see how much I paid.. Perhaps I can get some backup from one of my friends here Mad ....

Not that I'm interested in one of these, but I checked Sweetwater's website and they are selling them for $899.99, so this does look like a great deal if you're looking for one of these Gibson's made in the USA.

Actually, this is a decent price for an American made electric guitar from any brand!!

Bob's stuff is always as described and I am certain that he got these as he says he did; as a former GC employee I can also back him up that the sale prices are real. If I had any cash at all I'd be buying one.

Thanks Keith...These were bought at GC in Johnson City NY
[near Binghamton].. 2 were shipped there from California stores, and I thought the store mgr. said one came from New Mexico.. I am not quite as indignant now,
and will provide serial # on these if requested before payment is made... bob Smile

i bought a guitar from Bob. It was EXACTLY as he described it, packed well, shipped immediately, I'm super happy with it. Good luck with the sales Bob, whoever gets these guitars will get a great deal on a nice guitar.

I've dealt with Bob several times - he has always described everything exactly the way it was, warts or not, and packed everything carefully and shipped pronto. By giving such accurate descriptions, I think he turns away some people who are not used to this level of frankness and think there must be something wrong. My experience is quite the opposite - I want a no-holes-barred accurate description.

Personally, I think this is a killer deal, if you are in the market for a guitar like this. If you want to see these and what GC was selling them for, you can look at this cached Google link: Click Here. I imagine they wanted to blow these out - times are indeed tough, and cash flow is at a premium - I used to be in the guitar store biz and have friends who still are. Our good fortune if we have some money.

My opinions, of course.

Shoot Bob. Why do you have them on the market so soon after Christmas. You don't happen to have some sort of layaway plan for poor steelers wo work for a hospice and have a guitar playing son who would probably love a Gibson Explorer? You know, "a few dollars down and a few dollars a week", and before you know it, it's yours. BTW, you didn't happen to end up with any Gibson Firebirds that GC was discontinuing, did you?
Anyway, let me know when you start a payment plan for charity cases and best of luck on the sale my NY friend, formerly from Joisey.
Duncan

Duncan Very Happy ... anyway, thanks all.. These are all spoken for,, Donation will be forthcoming.. If any of the buyers bails, I will repost ...Damn these are really nice guitars, and I should keep one, but I need it like a bullet in the brain. Light and resonant with bodies that are alive in your hand. Incredible sustain and "ring" when played acoustically... Gibson did a nice job with these guitars, but they probably didn't sell when they priced them at close to $1,000... bob
