The Abrigo Ohana has just started a website. Lots of photo's of current Hawaiian steel players and the best local musicians from Hawaii.

The website is still in it's early stages, but many new things have been added since I signed up.

Some video's have just been put on, and a Forum has just been created.

Check it out! Very Happy

Mahalo for posting this link Derrick. I see a familiar face on the opening page, and have added this site to the favorites list. I'll look forward to visiting the site. Spring is just around the corner.

Ditto on the thanx, Derrick.
I need to get out more, havn't seen much of this bunch, but have heard lot's about the 14/15 year old that mirrors Led Kapana and is now focusing on steel.

Great to see a big family still into the trad styles and bring new blood/ideas into the mix. We need more!

Lanet is doing a tremendous service by promoting the traditional Hawaiian music of the Islands at Waimea.

The website must be darn good; It's been completely overloaded with data and bogged down. I tried about 20 times to no avail; Page would load only partially then freeze Internet Explorer. Will check again later.

Folks, The Abrigo Ohana IS THE REAL DEAL; The most exciting new talent I have seen in a very long time; And that goes for every member of their Ohana who works 24-7 in every sense of Aloha to make those kids' future as bright as it sure promises to be; Family Aloha, Kokua and TALENT to THE max; Dripping wet with something far BEYOND TALENT ....everything they do flows like some magic stream running down from the mountains, lit by perpetual rainbows, fragrant flowers swaying to the authentic Hawaiian Music they make.

How does an 11 year old Lady and 14 year old young Man make so much heavenly music?????????? Severely GIFTED.

They have many connections with many Hawaiian Music Legends who see how remarkable and promising they are; And Dad Tim, Mom Lanet (in particular Lanet because Tim is recovering from a serious accident), and Uncle Ron Kanahele, are doing ALOHA BASED wonders for the kids and their Abrigo Ohana.

For Folks that might not know: 14 year old Timi was already an accomplished variety guitarist and slack key guitarist; Then decided he wanted to learn Hawaiian Steel, so Ron Kanahele took him on as a student. One week later he played steel at their Kani Ka Pila, and a few days later came to my house for some back lanai musical pilialoha ...overlooking a beuatiful ocean and day. Pinch myself ...did I die and go to heaven ! ? ! ? They knocked my soul and socks right off into the wind; Breathless, stunned, light headed, ...what can I say; No words come close.

Hmmmmmm .....did I say their Family KNOCKS MY SOCKS OFF ! ! ! I missed the December Kani Ka Pila; Tied up 24-7 in some critical matters, and been going thru withdrawals since. Hmmmmmm..... .....mighta been what made me rather ill for a number of days both side of Christmas; Just gettin' back up and around.

Well shootz; I guess I ain't helpin' myself get on their new website today; I hope by now that word is spreading like wildfire from Folks that have visited their website.

Flood their websites with support and kokua. They SURE deserve it !

For Folks that might not have yet found it:

Here's their 'My Space':

ENJOY...............
