I have just finished listening to Mike Sweeney's new CD for the third time. I love it because it is so well-done and pure "Steel Guitar." If you like simplicity without a lot of production and just plain great playing and tone, I highly recommend this CD. It sounds like a composite of many of my heroes: Curly Chalker, Doug Jernigan, Lloyd Green, Buddy Emmons, Jimmy Day, John Hughey. Of course Mike puts his own touch to all of this. The tone almost makes me want to go back to playing my old Emmons p/p. It has the balls and the bells. Mike, you have an excellent product. Thanks also for being such a wonderful friendl.
