I am a steel beginner (8 months), I don't know how to set the amp to get a good clean steel sound. Maybe the amp is not the one I should be using. I just don't know. Your input and advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Tommy. |

Hey Tommy,
I've never tried out the SC for steel guitar as it was designed for six string guitar reproduction. However, this is not to say that you cannot obtain the tonality that you are looking for.
Just make sure that you set the post gain at a higher setting than the pre gain control on the channel of your choice. The rest of the control settings are subjective. If you will call me at the factory with your amp and guitar set up for "experimenting", I'll be glad to walk you through the various controls. I can be reached toll free at 1-877-732-8391, ext. 1180 Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm CST.

The amp is fine for a beginner, or even some pros. Use the same settings that are used for the NV 400. |
