The great Ray Gantek is the steel player at the Orange Blossom Opry, and steel player Johnny Bondz runs the sound system. Johnny also has a music store in Wildwood, about 12 miles west of Leesburg.
I play at Catfish Johnny's in Lake Panasoffkee, about 25 miles from Leesburg. We do a weekly, Tuesday daytime "jam show" that starts at noon (he has a fish fry that starts at 10:30am before the show). Also come to our Florida Steel Guitar Club jams that are also at Catfish Johnny's the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Info on the jam and a map showing where Catfish Johnny's located is on the club's web site www.floridasteelguitarclub.com
We get a lot of people from the Villages at Catfish Johnny's.
I'm expecting around 14 Steeler's at the club jam next Wednesday (Jan 14). |

As Jack mentioned we have our monthly Florida Steel Guitar Club jam this Wednesday the 14th.
We have a very fine group of steel players doing solos and as time permits a singer or two.
Johnny's also has some fine food if you want to eat before the jam which starts at 5:30.
Drop in if you have the time and hear some fine pickin'.
