I have owned this Nashville 400 from new and this is the first thing that has happened to it.It started sounding like it had distortion unit attached to it and it didn't.I have it at a repair shop here in Ohio and he has had it for at least three wks.The service tech called me the day after I took it there and told me that the speaker voice coil had started comming loose and needed replaced. He told me a couple days ago he had placed an order with Peavey to try and get an exact replacement but hasn't heard anything yet.Anyone with any info on were I can get an exact replacement please let me know. Thanks

Ron, contact www.peavey.com. I am certain they can help you with your problem in much less than the time you have already waited.

As well, many forum members probably have an extra Black Widow speaker that they will sell you at a very reasonable price. '85 model likely has the 1502. You may want to consider the 1501 model for a replacement as you will get a better response in tone depending upon personal taste.

If you have an older model 400 with the 1502 speaker and replace it with the 1501 that was used in later models you WILL need the Peavey tone mod kit as it will lose a lot of lows and gain a lot of highs (this was the reason for the tone mod that was developed by John Lemay).

I don't know if the magnet on the 1502 is compatible with a 1501, that's something else to consider.

The magnet in your '85 Nashville 400 amp will fit the existing 1501-4 BW magnet. All that you need is the 1501-4 shallow basket which includes the cone, frame, voice coil, etc.... Order this under part number 00027020 through the factory parts deparement or through your local Peavey dealer.

The factory parts department can be reached toll free at 1-877-732-8391, ext. 1186.
