This one I started 3 months ago. The wood was advertised Tiger Stripe, bubbly maple. I guess the guy really didn't know what to call it? The wood was 25" so I needed to gain another 6". I made a head that has a 3" long tang on it that fits very snuggly in a slot I milled in the neck. I then plated it similar to an electric guitar neck to a body. It works great and the open wood peg head stays in tune. Very happy with the results. _________________ Currently own, 6 Groner-tone lap steels, one 1953 Alamo Lap steel, Roland Cube, Fender Champion 40 |

ah.....my two neighbors Steve and Robert... Thank you Joe, C.E., Steve and Robert for your kind words. There were times during the build I was not sure I was heading where I wanted to go, but it all worked out and I could not be happier. Again, thanks. _________________ Currently own, 6 Groner-tone lap steels, one 1953 Alamo Lap steel, Roland Cube, Fender Champion 40 |
