Folks, I posted this in the Event Announcements, but since I frequent this topic, I am posting here, as well.
My new CD One Feather Shy will be released on August 26th and is now available for preorder in our online store at www.clayphonicrecords.com. On it I play acoustic, electric, baritone electric, fretless electric, lap steel, baritone lap steel, touch, and synthesizer guitars.
For this album the description "genre-indifferent instrumental guitar music" is appropriate; I cross musical boundaries with little regard for convention. Sometimes delicate, sometimes aggressive, the music has been described as textural, visual, thoughtful, and emotional. The songs range from spaghetti western to ambient, from progressive to melodic, from sparse arrangements to densely orchestrated compositions with over a dozen tracks of guitar. And it is all guitar!
I play lap steel on 8 of the 18 tracks on One Feather Shy. The steel work is mostly non-traditional and utilizes looping technology and effects, along with my lap steel's natural tones, to create an important part of the album's sound. Odds are, if you think I'm playing a thick synth pad, it's lap steel.
Two of the tracks are available for streaming at my pages on MySpace, Facebook, and iLike - see the links in my signature for all of those pages. There is lap steel on Good Things, Good People. _________________ Loren Claypool

Distribution update - One Feather Shy is now available in both CD and MP3 download formats at CD Baby. The CD Baby page has samples from each of the 18 songs on the CD. Full length versions of two of the songs can be streamed from our pages at MySpace, Facebook, and iLike. And, of course, you still purchase the CD from our online store at www.clayphonicrecords.com. _________________ Loren Claypool
