I hope I am posting this in the correct forum since I'm not selling these.
I saw these three guitars at The Guitar Center in Hallandale, FL last Saturday while buying strings. Maybe someone can chime in on these Axes as far as vintage, model, year, etc... the hanging lap steel is a Gibson and the two triple necks are Fenders.
I didn't ask to play them but I strummed them and they were definitely not in tune. The sales rep said these were sold to the store by a local steeler who needed money. The Lap Steel has a $900.00 price tag on it. Sounds steep!

Hi, John is right. I saw the same steel guitars myself at that Guitar Center. I frequent there very much.
Hi john. Didn't know I had a steeler so close to me. I live in Miramar maybe a few miles from you.
Thanks
Dwight

Out of curiosity I called the store and was quoted a price of $2499 for the '52. I guess that's the Custom, not the Stringmaster. |

I guess everyone is entitled to their asking price. Like the Sho-Bud on eBay right now for $18,799.99... |

Right Lynn, they never made the Stringmaster in 52. The Custom I believe was built 1949-1952. I had two Triple Neck 8-String Customs. They are very cool and I'd much rather have one than a Stringmaster. Many people that don't know think that just because it says Fender and it's old that it's valuable but thats not the case. The asking price on the Custom if it's original is about five hundred too high unless it's a really sweet guitar with very little wear on it. It looks to me from the picture like a refinish and I'd think that would be worth more like twelve hundred tops. WC |

When I called the guy who handles vintage instruments wasn't in, but when I he quoted the price for the Custom I figured the Stringmaster would also be priced too high. Not unusual for Guitar Center. |

The real kicker is the Gibson BR9. I wonder what those guys are smokin'. Guitar Center is typical for over priced vintage stuff. |
