My mother "Eldy" passed away at 88yrs of age this last Wednesday. We are having the Funeral this morning at 11 am. She got me started in this wonderful business of "Music" when I was 9 years old by starting me with lessons on the Accordian. She loved to play & sing the old cowboy songs and was great at the art of Yodeling. When I was in my teens she showed me a few simple chords on her guitar and the rest is history, I have been totally "Hooked" ever since. We played CD's at the visitation yesterday. They included the Blackwood Brothers and also the Gospel CD that features ALbert Talley on his steel guitar. She was a wonderful lady and mother. I still have my dad George, altho he will be lost without her, they were married 71 years. He turns 90 in Jan. but his heart is in very bad condition. We are so thankful for the long wonderful life they have lived, there are so many that leave us way to early in life.
Thanks, Neil, Barb & family. _________________ Sho-Bud Steel Guitars, 3 Super Pro's, 1 Super Pro II (Rose) & 1 Finger Tip

Hi Neil,
Please accept my condolences in the loss of your Mom. Surely she was/is a large influence in all phases of your life. My Mom had a very similar influence on me. God grant you His peace in this time of need! |

Neil,
You paint a beautiful picture of your mother, and you both are truly blessed to have had each other for so long. Even so, the pain of loss is always heart-wrenching.
I will keep you and your family in prayer - and ask the Lord's most tender touch upon your Dad as he lay his lady to rest.
God bless,

THANKS to all for your Blessings & Sympathy. This GIFT of MUSIC we all share is truly a BLESSING from the LORD to us all. I was able to share a few tunes with MOM right up until about a week before her passing. I would have to play the guitar for her the last year or so, she would still sing so pretty even tho it was very soft.
THANK YOU AGAIN......SO MUCH!

Hi Neil,
My mother passed on this year too. She was the same age as your mother.
I really miss her this year at Christmas time because I can't ever remember a Christmas without her. She loved Christmas. My thoughts are that she is with JESUS now and that's what Christmas is really all about.
May GOD bless you, and comfort you, and your loved ones!

Neil, sorry I couldn't make the visitation but what a great post of your Mom and the personal & musical relationship you enjoyed with her. I too started on the accordion as my Mom did and feel I have much of the same relationship you & your Mom shared. Thanks for the call today, it was nice to hear from you and sorry we couldn't hook up Saturday. Kevin |
