I wish the best for Ray. He is among the greatest singers ever and has always appreciated the steel guitar. My prayers are with him for a speedy and complete recovery.

If It wasn't for Ray Price we might not have as many steel players as we do. As I understand It he'd fire one at the drop of a hat. So a new player would get some good experance. It's kind of a standing joke that everyone has played for Ray Price at one time or another.
But Ray Price sure set the standard for country music for a lot of years.
And he started out as a pop singer!!!!

I watched Ralph Emery interview Price once and Price stated he never did care for the steel guitar. |

Obviously Ray hasn't heard Jerry Garcia's steel playing yet. |

Ray might not have cared much for the steel guitar but he always managed to have the best. And as I stated above he's a pop singer at heart but sure did give us a lot of years of real country music.
