Sounds just like he did it on the record other than the bass doing the opening pickup notes rather than a flat-top. _________________ Rebel |

Hi Roger, that song was written by a couple of good friends of mine and a lot of others on the west coast in the 60s. Thier names are Vern Stoval and Bobby George, Elvis recorded the song and of course made pretty much a hit. They have written several others that were recorded by some of the other known stars. Bobby George passed away in 70 or 71 of a brain anurisuim (not sure of the spelling) he was only in his 30s, same thing happened to my other wife at 33/ Vern lives in Dallas now I think, he was the one that did the vocal on Phil Baughs, Country Guitar. db |

What a great song!! I have heard several wonderful recordings of it. Keith Whitley's comes to mind. _________________ Ellis Miller

Instrumentally I prefer Curly Chalkers version of "Long Black Limousine."
