Hi folks I’m just curious here. Who owns or have owned a out west pak-seat. Any thoughts on them? I know they’ve not been building seats for about 3 or 4 years now, but I’ve been searching and not to many seem to come up for sale. Are they a good seat? Do they seem to hold up compared to other seats? Should they be blown up, sold, run over? Kept, changed?

Hi Wayne,
Mine is still in perfect shape. I like it a lot, but can't compare to any other seats, 'cause this is the first pac-a-seat I have.
One option would be nice: a way to quickly put the legs up and down, now it uses the thumb screws, which is a bit time comsuming (but very stable and secure)

Wayne, I bought mine new several years ago with longer-than-standard legs. I really like it; I used to use a Sho-Bud seat and then a drum throne, and my Out West seat is far more comfortable than either.
It has held up well, and I'm a big, heavy guy, so it's built sturdy. The only thing that I have needed to have fixed is the metal rod braces at the ends of the legs broke loose, but I work in a shop where it was no big deal to have one of the welders do a quick fix for me. The only other thing I changed was swapping out the rigid plastic handle for a "strap" type amplifier handle since I like the feel better.
I have no plans to part with mine! |

| I've had my Outwest pakaseat for a few years now and it's the most comfortable seat I've ever owned. The high density foam really saves the buttocks and hips on long gigs and it's rock solid. |

My Outwest is still the best of the 3 i've owned. Plenty of room inside for all my stuff and the seat cushion is still as comfortable as it was new. The legs and polished aluminum edges still shine brilliantly. Thanks again for taking the time to build quality products and for standing by your work.

Hi Wayne,
I still use mine and I'd echo the observations above.
1. It's comfortable all night long, set after set.
2. the legs could fold up quicker and easier.
3. The compartment for the pedal doesn't fit my Hilton well nor did it fit the goodrich light pedal I used before.
That said, If I didn't like it, I wouldn't keep it. |

| Havent been happy with mine. The thumb screw fastener for the legs has been a problem. The inserts for them were put in backwards and they pulled out. Have it fixed now by filling the hole with wood putty and re-drilling and setting the inserts in from the opposite side, changing the length of the thumb screw and now it works ok. I agree it would be nicer if there were a better way to set it up without the thumb screws. Still have an old Sho-Bud seat also I use at home as it has smaller capacity then the out west seat. |

| Wayne, I would suggest the Sho-Bud seat mechanism for the leg fold-up. It works well with my other Steeler's Choice seat and is quick to set up. |

john...i'm not going to build them again...i'm just doing a poll as i do not see many of them for sale compared to the others.
ROY... i'm just curious if you ran into a design flaw or a problem...why didn't you contact me about it.

| Wayne, the cost to ship and return the seat would have been prohibitive considering what it took to make the necessary repairs. Once I fixed the problem, the seat has worked just fine for me. |

| Wayne I have enjoyed my pac seat. It has held up well. The only problem I have had with it is the rubber tube cap has come off one of the legs and I cant find another. It would be nice if it was made out of carbon fiber as the older you get the heavier it gets when its full of all the stuff you can put in it. The legs dont bother me as i leave them hooked up all the time. A very good product. |
