Here's my not so new lap steel, recently acquired from ex Eastern Germany. I thought some of you might be interested by seeing and listening to this "Herrnsdorf Elektra Artist" probably dating from mid fifties to early sixties. The guitar is good shape and the only restoration needed was to make a new Banana /jack cable and to ground the microphone a little better in order to eliminate as much buzz as possible.
Below are a pic as well as a quickly recorded sound clip.

That's a fascinating looking steel, and it sounds pretty good too. Thanks for sharing! _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

I love those old Guitars, I bought a 1954 Teisco on Fleabay from Japan, it has a wonderful sound which I will let you all hear soon.
James. Thank you for sharing. |
