Charles,
This is one video that's worth posting again...and again.
Just to give a little background on the band, Bakersfield:
The whole band is made up of born and bred Norwegians. They all live in Norway. I emphasize this because
Odd Lauritsen, the singer, has super American English pronunciation. In fact he sings with perfect Bakersfield dialect.
The steel player is none other than Steinar Schroeder.
Steinar has been a serious Tom Brumley student for years and seeks to replicate every Brumley move. All details to this fine tribute band is well done..right down to the suits and Steinar's ZB Custom Steel..Just like the one Tom played on the old Buck Owens recordings. |

I know that Buck knew how to play a steel guitar; however, does anyone know just how proficient he was at playing it? |

That is Steinar Schroder on steel and playing it very well. In additon to being a great steel player he is also one of the nicest people on the face of the earth. I just can't say enough nice things about him. He is truly a Tom Brumley and Buck Owens student. I have that video captured so I can watch it anytime I want and I do often. It is almost like seeing the Buckaroos again. Greg Jones rebuilt that guitar for Steinar and did a really great job. I count myself very lucky to call Steinar and Greg close personal friends. I am truly luckly.
