I have made a cd with background tracks for those who want to play some of the older style and gospel.
This is a cd with ONLY Patsy Cline and gospel songs (Elvis style).
The list is as follows.

2.Someday you'll want me to want you.
    3.Strange
    4.Leavin' on your mind
    5.Crazy
    6.A poor man's roses
    7.Why can't he be you
    8.You're stronger then me
    9.He Called Me Baby
    10.Faded love
    11.Blue moon of Kentucky
    12.The eyes of a child
    13.Always
    14.I fall to pieces
15.You took him of my hands

Gospel songs

    1.You'll never walk alone
    2.I believe
    3.How great thou art
    4.Crying in the chapel
    5.In my fathers house
    6.Lead me Guide me
    7.Where could I go
    8.The promised land
    9.Mansion over the hilltop
    10.Shake a hand
    11.Precious Lord
12.Somebody bigger then you and I
    13.Who am I
    14.Where no one stands alone
    15.You gave me a mountain

Gordon Lightfoot & others

    1.Sundown
    2.Carefree Highway
3.If you could read my mind
    4.Rainy day people
    5.The circle is small
    6.Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald

Others

    1.Morning has broken
    2.Coat of many colors
    3.Bright eyes

I added a couple tracks from Gordon Lightfoot. These are the tracks that Curly Chalker used on his famous album(IMO the best Curly ever did).

Anyone that records an existing song needs to have a"Blanket License" and has to list this song.
If you are in the Professional recording business then you know this already.
You can make a copy for personal use only.As of how far personal use goes is one of the most confusing issues involving copyrighted music.
This entire issue revolves around the definition of the class of copyrighted material.

If you want to distribute your songs then you have to purchase a blanket license for these songs.

Nic you have produced many cd's already. My question to you is this.Do you have a mechanical(blanket) license for all these cd's(songs)?
A license for distributing your cd's is required.

Do you have one?

Only with permission from the copyright holder(s) you can distribute your songs.

I hope this answers your questions.

Ron

P.s

ow and before I forget Nic.

Or is this an outright purchase with a blanket licence.

A "Blanket license" is a license which allows the music user to perform any or all of the songs in the ASCAP,BMI(etc) repertory as much or as little as they like. Licensees pay an annual fee for the license. The blanket license saves music users the paperwork, trouble and expense of finding and negotiating licenses with all of the copyright owners of the works that might be used.

I hope this final answer clarifies all of what you asked for above.

Thank you so much,

Everyone that records a cd with existing songs has to register his product and pay the fee. That is not up to me.

This Peter?
He seems to have been removed for
improper handle and no identification.
He is not in the rolls of member ship.

Is this so?

Just to clarify this.
