It's important to remember that Chuck Lettes and George Piburn are the founding fathers of the Non Pedal Session.
If it weren't for their effort and dedication, the Non Pedal Session would never have existed in the first place. |

If I wasn't on the wrong side of the globe I would be in that room waiting already, with a cold glass of beer and a big grin.

It's only one little teensy weekend, why don't you sell something you don't use anymore and make your reservations?
But if not - like Dean says, all you have to do is wait for the YouTube clips. It's not quite the same as being there, but it sure beats not seeing and hearing the show at all. To me, the videos are a primary consideration - a lot of people who can't be there still get to see & hear . . |

Well it looks like you're all set Howard - you can either stand on the corner of I-35 and Route 66, or swing down to 1-10 and wait anywhere between Jacksonville FL and Lafayette LA til we cruise by.
Either way, you'll be travelin' in style . .
But it'll be totally worth the rigors of the journey - I have it on good authority that the Skipper may be bringing his one-of-a-kind pristine 4 neck Bigsby.
If he can just fit it through the door . . |

All I can say is that being referred to as a "ROOKIE" sorta makes an olde, 3-times retired gent like me, feel kinda youngish once again. This is one of the first times this musician has not had a day job. That's nice.
Personally, I can't wait to get to have the good fortune to play music with the distinguished HOUSE BAND. A fine group of musicians to be sure.
Rick, do you suppose HOWARD is certified for carrying a BIGSBY in-case. It would be an honor for him, I'm sure, since it's the only quad, one-owner BIGSBY in the land. I need someone thoroughly experienced in this kind of celebrity colaboration.
BRAD, the wife and I will be driving by Sacramento via I-5 enroute to Dallas. If you can let me know what corner you'll be standing on and what attire you might be adorned in, we could surely pick you up and let you handle some of the driving chores.
I know I'm looking forward to this BIG GALA EVENT!
I'm debating whether to install new strings on my Rick.......or not. I will be bringing my totally refurbished 1930's Volu-Tone amp, the one identical to JERRY BYRD's that ended up in Nashville's country music hall of fame.

I have a wonderful new friend up in New York with a one owner triple neck Bigsby, in pristine condition.
He's expressed some interest in coming down to the TSGA event and I've been attempting to entice him to bring along his Bigsby.
As a sidenote to this really great gathering of steel guitar players, wouldn't it be wonderful IF....
everyone with a BIGSBY steel guitar would be willing to bring their g'tar to the TSGA Jamboree?
Just to be able to see 25 or 30 Bigsby's in one room would be an orgasmic experience, would it not?
Just a tho't from an olde man, now, with entirely too much time on his hands. |

If I was driving I would bring mine.... but I would not trust the airlines to handle any musical instrument much less a Bigsby.
Ray are you going to bring the quad ??
This would be great if there was a room available to show some of Paul Bigsby's incredible instruments. We would just need a guard and a lot of insurance. My booth is just two tables in the lobby so that would not be a good place.
Ray you are on to something good here.

| Sorry to tell you this Skip however I have had a set back healthwise. I had got to the point where I could walk about 125 ft but now it dropped to 90 ft and I am too tired to move for about an hour. So I won't be seeing you and the gang this yr Have a great time. cc |

If there were a secure room, I would strongly consider bringing the Jerry Byrd Fender.....while I wouldn't want to pay the additional charge for baggage, I could most probably put the body in a gig bag for carry on.....and pack the legs with my check in...... |

George is right - and the security is very good in the hotel, many vendors including myself leave guitars and other gear/wares covered up at their vendor tables.
His table is right by the front desk, and ours are in the main lobby area - all in full view.
We haven't had any problems in past years . .
For Ray and others who are staying in other hotels - both Jeff Strouse and I have our rooms in the Sheraton Grand, and we'd be happy to provide safe overnight havens for these vintage treasures. |
