If you've outgrown Joe Wright in 3 months; your the one who should be giving lessons. I'm pretty sure that 90% of steel players out there couldn't outgrow JW in 30 years let alone 3 months..................

YEAH I KNOW It amazed Joe how fast I learned all his licks .In fact I showed him A FEW LICKS THAT HE WILL PROBABLY BE USING IN HIS SHOWS. The only thing that amazed me was how simple it was to learn . Another thing Joe started me using three picks but after the first lesson I showed Joe how to use 4 picks . He was having trouble with the 4 picks but he thanked me for showing him.Personally I DONT THINK HE CAN HANDLE 4 PICKS HE'S NOT THAT COORDINATED BUT I DIDNT TELL HIM. I JUST TOLD HIM TO KEEP PRACTISING AND I WOULD COME BY EVERY NOW AND THEN TO HELP HIM. JOE WAS REALLY AMAZED THAT I COULD PLAY ALL HIS LICKS WITHOUT EVEN USING THE PEDALS JUST KNEE LEVERS.

There are subjects that are easily absorbed by gifted select few. I once worked for a fellow who had photographic memory, and total recall. He and I worked in electronics. Wouldn't have wanted to lie to him, he would remember every word that was said long after you had forgotten having had the conversation.

Have you posted any Youtube vids?

Obviously untrue. That video was posted a year ago.

Lady Cohran/Connie Cohran, same name? Same person? Your not Joe's father-in-law are you. Now that would be keeping it in the family, wouldn't it. Bet Joe's laughing his butt off. Then again, maybe wrong. DS

can we assume you started learning steel somewhere around 8/07? The JW vid link you posted was added to youtube on the 23rd of November 2007. You taught him some licks one year ago and waited one year to boast about it?

The hillbilly friend who said Joe wasn't showing up....sat behind the steel and played his butt off?
Joe played some heavy metal-rock and roll in Dallas.
Very very loud, the old hardcore country audience left the room....."what a pity for them he said, now they have to miss this"....and played hardcore country for the ones who stayed.

Question Are some of you "in the know" about this? Is it some kind of inside joke (as Paul's and Olaf's posts suggest)? I don't really care, just curious.

Don't want to be a party-pooper, but on a "public" Forum like this, posting stuff that most readers won't "get" seems a bit inappropriate.

I'm surprised any one would take this joke seriously. Isn't Warren Joe's brother-in-law?
