and i was told never to use a tuneable bridge on
a lap top.

WOW! Very Interesting. Somehow I can't "picture" acrylic resonating as good as wood ... but what do i know... I play Ovation guitars and love em.!

This same guitar is already being discussed on another thread, but you're right - the tuneable bridge isn't really necessary on a lap steel.
