Most folks know I am a shobud fan, so what I post will pertain to that brand guitar. What's your favorite inlay? It can be any brand steel guitar that catches your eye. Here's some different styles of diamond inlay I have found on different era shobuds. What have you seen to add to this list?

First is my '67 Shobud Fingertip.

This is a '75 Pro I.

Here's a '69 "The Professional" with early era diamond inlay.

Hey James, sorry I should have identified it as a Derby. The color in the picture is deceiving because it's usually looks much darker, unless light is shining directly on it. The inlay gets your attention because it really reflects the light.

I don't have any pictures of it, but my LDG has the diamond inlay like the Pro I's in your first post, James. However, like you, my favorite is the rope style inlay.

James,
I furnished the inlay to Bill for the guitar.
It is a combination of wood inlay in the center with thin stripes of mother-of-pearl on the sides.
Here is another one:

James, no that isn't my LDG in the avatar. Mine is darker green than the avatar pic. If I can borrow a camera in a day or two, I'll see if I can get a decent pic of it.

On this old p/p, there wasn't any inlay in the necks when I bought it. Actually the necks are from another guitar.
I found inlay material that matched the cabinet inlay quite closely and I figured out how to route the necks and install the matching inlay.
